Garlic Dipping Sauce

2  garlic cloves minced
1 tsp garlic powder
150 gm  unsalted butter
Sea salt/ white pepper
½ lemon juiced
Olive oil
Chopped chives parsley, or spring onions for garnish


  • Heat a saucepan using low heat, add  a tablespoon of olive oil. Put-in the butter and allow to melt
  • When the butter is hot enough, add the garlic and cook for a minute (do not brown the garlic) Pour-in the lemon juice and stir then let stand for 15 to 20 seconds
  • Add garnish, and season (as needed) then turn off the heat. Set aside.

For other flavours just replace the minced garlic with -

Chilli butter - add 1 tbsp chilli flakes, 1 tsp garlic powder
Ginger butter - add 20 gm minced ginger,
Mustard - 1 tbsp fresh parsley, 2 tbsp mustard powder and ¼ tsp salt
Sesame - 1 tbsp toasted sesame seed, 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce and ½ tsp garlic salt

OPTIONAL: replace white pepper with red pepper flakes or Schezwan pepper
