A trained nutritionist, Petra New qualified as a chef in 1989 and worked her way around the world, soaking up the flavours of each country she spent time in.

Career highlights include her time as the Mayor of Edinburgh’s personal chef, and as part of a catering team for the Queen’s garden tea parties at Holyrood Palace. Petra has worked in Auckland restaurants Hammerheads, Iguaçu, Halo and One Tree Grill.

Now the mother of two energetic boys, she owns a boutique catering company, creates special occasion cakes and tutors at the Auckland Seafood School. Petra’s food philosophy is all about creating modern, uncomplicated and innovative cuisine, using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients.
