The Auckland Seafood Festival was once again an absolute hit with the Seafood School running free cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend. Our chefs shared many of the delicious recipes over the 3 days plus we enjoyed special guest and Festival Ambassador Brett McGregor and son Jack presenting ‘Jack’s Fish and Chips’ whilst Brett showcased his ‘Fish Balls with fresh Green Curry paste’. Brett was once again incredibly entertaining and informative with lots of fun stories – Jack had a few good stories of his own too! New to the Electrolux Cooking Theatre was Akira Kugue from Gion Japanese Restaurant in Parnell. Akira teaches at the Seafood School every third month sharing his techniques and skills on Sushi and Sashimi. He wowed the audience with his knife skills whilst creating the freshest and tastiest Sushi and Sashimi that was enjoyed by many in the crowd at the end of the demonstration.
